Sheep handling equipment has to do two jobs that pull against each other: hold animals securely while they are worked, and let them move freely the rest of the time. The hardware is hot dip galvanized, because sheep equipment spends much of its life outdoors and is frequently moved between sites, which is exactly the duty cycle that finds a weak coating. The panels are designed to interlock so a race or a pen can be reconfigured on site rather than built to one fixed layout, which matters when the same equipment has to serve lambing, shearing and drafting through the year.
